Den of Thieves review: The movie was released in February

Den of Thieves is a typical example of a visual inspirational filmmaker and with the whole scene and the mood of the two - it's Heat, ok, it's damn heat - and it's really an effort. strong force. Christian Gudegast, who co-wrote and directed the film in 140 minutes devoted to tattoos, drinking, drinking and tattoos made him director, and while it was true never really existed what Michael Mann did with his movie "Guy", nor did it come with its high expectations and the overwhelming sense of epic prominence ( and I do not mean that as putting down exactly for heat, but ... that's a very full-fledged film it's important, expected next-door actor). Den of Thieves movies is interested in what it is trying to do, and that may be a long way for me in a world where so many filmmakers just step in and are lazy.

It's a long process (at least 10 minutes) in Los Angeles and it's about the tradition of movies that are famous for tough criminals and tough police officers. Melville of course this is not, but I hope that some lucky 17 or 18 year old movie lovers will find it in an almost empty cinema in February (or, , on any video platform) and may be inspired to find more. It's Gerard Butler and Pablo Schrieber (with O'Shea Jackson Jr. in full combination as the driver for his crew, totally making a mark for himself unlike the Ice Cube Jr., though. the same will certainly help at least initially) it is unapologetic about its character. This is not to say that the movie necessarily * supports * the way they behave, at least I hope not. I think filmmakers find this difficult and exciting and hope we will too. Does he have a little reward? OK, let's say that 50 Cent is facing his daughter's date, so 'on the floor' is ready, that makes people confused for why it's here over a cut The last drop (or perhaps no one really care because that's the budget under-the-radar issue in January). But the direction, the way Gudegast and his camera operators move the composition and know how to frame people and create a mood for a scene, is good. Really well. Perhaps to the point where I can forget about Christopher Nolan's return to previous films, although there is not the same sense of visual keenness as this man here (not to say that He is * better than Nolan, we should not participate in that discussion. The problem is in the script and how he directed the actors - most notably Butler, whom I have never had any strong relationship with (sometimes does not like his efforts to become stiff). the snake that comes out lame in another movie), but typing in a character that he brings, lots, lots of warts and terrible parts and all - he's trying to make a real story intriguing, involving a conspiracy to steal the Federal Reserve room in LA and do so.

Again, some of this can be excited up to low expectations, but I always prefer to go into crime movies, especially the fictitious theft genre, with all the hope and good desires that I can afford as a fan. This filmmaker is a fan, and not a hater who is an important difference. There is no effort for any profound remarks about how police and criminals work, but no problem; We have to accept Butler's Nick and his "bad" police have carved out their hardcore niche (they are not completely betrayed, just filthy and full of personality), and still have enough understanding. how criminals work, that they are mostly former Marine or sports aspirants. I'm not a hundred percent sure how to get it close to real life, but it creates its own reality .... a group of bloody, powerful lambs, characters, sometimes -fictitious-gay fantasy of the people.

This does not mean that it has a big art pedestal to stand on, and I think of a few fluttering holes related to what Nick and his cop will / will not tell people. Working in the Federal Reserve Bank said they saw Donnie come in as a "Chinese food guy" to watch. But if you like smart films that are created, take care to create some work to create characters and relationships and, of course, even give Nick some kids to take. from him etc ... (and that does not work, so surprisingly), this hit the spot. At least it did for me.
